Icon Tutorial #1

This tutorial will teach you how to go from this to this.

1. First, open up your image in Photoshop. I'm using this image from PotC-Online.net.

2. Crop your image to 100x100 (or to whatever size you want your icon to be).
see the step

3. Duplicate your base 3 times and set all duplicated layers to Screen.
see the step

4. Under the top layer, create a new Adjustment Layer (Curves) with these settings:
RGB: Input-152 Output-199
Red: Input-120 Output-161
Green: Input-100 Output-103
Blue: Input-70 Ouput-84
Set this Curves layer to Soft Light.
see the step

5. Create another new Adjustment Layer (Selective Color - Method: Relative) on the very top with these settings:
Reds: Cyan -24, Magenta +42, Yellow+28
Yellows: Cyan -17, Magenta -7, Yellow +30
Neutrals: Cyan +34, Magenta +17, Yellow +17, Black -12
see the step

6. Create another Selective Color layer on top with these settings:
Neutrals: Cyan +19, Magenta +28, Yellow +26, Black -11
see the step

7. Now I add this texture from Ewanism. Rotate it and set to Multiply on top.
see the step

8. Finally I add this texture (edited) from Loveicon, set to Screen.
see the final product

And that's it! Feel free to email me if you have any questions :)
